House
The Five Oaks Lakehouse has been completely updated this past year. Over 3200 square feet, and approximately 1500 square feet of decks, some of which are screened in. Most of the house and decks are in the shade of the huge oak trees.
It's got 4 bedrooms, all with king beds, and a bunk bedroom that has 2 twin beds. All beds have allergy and bedbug proof cases on them. One of the couches is a memory foam queen sleeper and there a couple of queen sized air mattresses. Upper and lower baths are full baths with showers and tubs. Main level has a half bath and the master bath with a spa like shower and heated tile floors. All bedrooms except the bunk room have night stands and dressers and walk in closets. Each one also has a ceiling fan as does both family rooms.
There is a new front load washer/dryer in the utility room on the lower level in case you run out of swimsuits. There is an iron and iron board in the master bedroom closet, but we can't think of why you would need it.
In the kitchen there is a large rice maker, insta pot, coffee maker, Keurig, tea pot, toaster, microwave, and just about any utensil made. Stove is a induction top and air fry/ convection oven. Just outside on the deck is a large 5 burner grill and a 4 burner griddle. There is plenty of seating everywhere.
Water heater is a new 80 gallon hybrid(heat pump/electric) and should be able to keep up your crew. A/C is oversized and keeps house very comfy.
The dock has just been re-decked and fitted with a new fish cleaning station, large table with 6 chairs, picnic table, loungers, and other chairs. There is a Wet steps ladder to get in or out of the lake. 2 sit on kayaks, 2 sit in kayaks, 3 paddle boards, saddle floaties, and chairs floaties along with a lily pad for wet fun. Bring your boat, slips are open and don't have any lifts to get in the way. There is a 12' wide by 32' long slip, as well as a 10' wide by 24' long slip for smaller rigs. The jet ski lift is there if you know how to use it (really easy, but is used at your own risk). Fits our 3 person skis with no issues. Don't forget to bring your own life jackets as they are required for the paddle boat, kayaks and SUP boards. The fishing off the dock is exceptional for crappie, bluegill and catfish. White bass come in schools and are great fun to catch also. Fishing licenses are required and are available on line though Missouri dept of conservation. There are fishing poles and reels (good ones) for you to use that we keep in the utility room. There is hooks and weights there, but they are available at the bait shop, Ozark bait and tackle, in Laurie (they also have minnows).
We have noticed very few if any mosquitos, but there are plenty of midges which also means spiders. The spiders and midges(like a mosquito, but without a poker) won't bite you, but we have a service that comes out and sprays every 2 weeks to keep them in check. The spray they use is non toxic and safe for everybody but the spiders.
There are numerous places to get gas on the water or on land. There are only a minimal number of public boat ramps however. Shawnee Bend boat ramp is fairly close, as is Gravois Mills public ramp. Leaving your trailer somewhere can be an issue, you can put it out front at the house, just don't block other driveways.
There is plenty of parking, probably up to 6 cars and a boat trailer. Just don't block our neighbors drives. And be courteous, most of our neighbors live there full time(at least in the summer).
